1852: Frances learned to read at the age of 3.
“In a life founded and formed upon books,” she wrote,“one naturally looks back with affection to the first book one possessed.”
The book was called The Little Flower Book which featured A is for Apple Blossom, C is for Carnation, R is for Rose…with splendid colors and appropriate verses for each.
